An Iraqi Company with a Kuwaiti partner, supported by international consultant firms, was granted permission to start a tourist compound at the coasts of Shatt al-Arab waterway at a total cost of $107 million, the director of Basra’s investment commission said on Monday.
“The project consists of two stages, and will be finalized within five years,” Dr. Hayder Ali told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“It would occupy an area of 158 donums (One Iraqi donum equals 2500 square meters),” he said.
